Terms of Use
Template — pending legal review. This text is a generic starting point, not legal advice.
1. What this app is
The Damage is a scorekeeping and tally-tracking tool for private golf games among friends. It records scores you type in and calculates who would owe what under the game rules you select. It is a calculator and a notebook — nothing more.
2. No money, no gambling service
The Damage does not hold, transfer, escrow, process, facilitate, or broker money or anything of value. It accepts no stakes, pays no winnings, and takes no rake or commission. Any settlement between you and the people you play with happens entirely outside this app, privately, between you.
You are solely responsible for determining whether any private wager you record is legal in your jurisdiction, and for complying with all applicable laws. If private wagering is not lawful where you are, do not use this app to record wagers.
3. Accounts and your role
Only the scorekeeper holds an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter, including other people's names, handicap indexes and scores, and for keeping your account credentials secure.
4. Share links
A round can be shared through a long, unguessable link. Anyone holding that link can view that round read-only. You control whether to share it and may revoke it at any time. Treat the link as public once you send it.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use The Damage for commercial betting operations, to run a book, to collect stakes from the public, or for any unlawful purpose. Do not enter data about people without a reasonable basis to do so.
6. No warranty
The app and all calculations are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that any score, handicap allocation, payout figure or tally is correct. Verify the math before anyone settles up.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any losses, disputes, or damages arising from your use of the app, including any dispute about who owes whom.
8. Age
You must be 18, or the age of majority where you live, whichever is greater.
9. Changes and termination
We may modify these terms or discontinue the service. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
